  "textContent": "\n\n\nLewis Hamilton has admitted Ferrari still have work to do to match Mercedes after losing out to Andrea Kimi Antonelli in an entertaining British Grand Prix sprint race at Silverstone.\n\nThe seven-time Formula One world champion started from pole position and controlled the opening stages, but his hopes of victory faded when Antonelli unleashed a perfectly timed move on lap eight.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe Mercedes teenager used his battery deployment to devastating effect before sweeping past Hamilton on the Hangar Straight, eventually pulling clear to strengthen his lead at the top of the drivers' championship.\n\nHamilton was left to settle for second and acknowledged afterwards that Ferrari simply could not match Mercedes' pace once Antonelli closed the gap.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n\"Tough race to keep the Mercedes behind,\" Hamilton admitted.\n\n\"I did say that was potentially the case yesterday and obviously with it being so windy today, a big, big headwind down the back-straight, he came flying past.\n\n\"I was pushing as hard as I could, I gave it absolutely everything. But well done to Kimi and we've got work to do to try and close that gap so we can keep up.\"\n\nThe Briton revealed he had spent much of the race trying to keep Antonelli outside the crucial one-second window, knowing that allowing the Mercedes driver into range would make defending almost impossible.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"They're particularly quick up to Turn 6.
