Catherine, the Princess of Wales, sat next to Andy Murray during her trip to SW19 to watch Wimbledon this afternoon.

The princess, 44, sat alongside the three-time Grand Slam winner and Anne Keothavong as they watched Britain's Katie Swan on No1 Court.

Unfortunately, under the beaming south London sun, Swan fell short against the United States's Madison Keys, who ran out victorious 6-1, 6-4.

Catherine could be seen cheering the Briton on and putting her hands to her mouth in exasperation as the 27-year-old, who cruised through the first round earlier in the week, struggled to play her best tennis.

The Princess of Wales, dazzling in a mid-blue Gabriela Hearst trouser suit featuring the designer's Stephanie blazer, paired with a white top underneath, chatted and laughed with Murray, who is known for his dry humour.

Her day at Wimbledon began at The Queue, where she spent time with tennis enthusiasts who had camped overnight in hopes of securing tickets.

The royal greeted fans warmly, posed for photographs, and personally handed out grounds passes to several lucky attendees.

The princess, who styled her brunette hair in a ponytail and accessorised with her signature Wimbledon bow brooch, later made her way to Court 18 to catch her first bit of court action.

There, she sat courtside alongside former British No1 Tim Henman and All England Club chair Deborah Jevans.

The trio watched British player Arthur Fery competing in his second-round encounter against Finland's Otto Virtanen.

The 23-year-old carries the hopes of the nation on his shoulders, as he remains the sole British representative so far to reach the third round of the tournament.

Following Jack Draper's and Emma Raducanu's withdrawals at the 11th hour, Britain entered Wimbledon this year already depleted. With Cam Norrie and Katie Boulter's first-round defeats, hopes of any Briton replicating Murray's feat in 2013 – which he repeated in 2016 – were all but dashed.

Also during her visit, Caerine spent time with young people from Shine Camera Club.

The initiative harnesses creative photography to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Catherine, a well-known tennis enthusiast, holds responsibility for presenting trophies to the singles champions at the tournament's conclusion.

She has served as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, establishing herself as a familiar figure at SW19.

Her attendance record stretches back to 2011, with only two absences: during her pregnancy with Prince George in 2013 and when the pandemic forced the Championships' cancellation in 2020.

Today's appearance came just days after Catherine completed the demanding Three Peaks Challenge solo, raising funds for the Royal Marsden Hospital.
