Lisa Faulkner, 54, confirms breast cancer diagnosis as TV presenter shares operation update
Actress and TV presenter Lisa Faulkner has opened up about her recent surgery after finding out about her breast cancer diagnosis.
The TV chef, 54, revealed she has already undergone surgery and will have a course of radiotherapy.
Ms Faulkner, who is married to former MasterChef star John Torode, revealed the news on Instagram on Thursday.
Taking to her Instagram account to reveal the news to her followers, she said in a video post: “Hi there.
“I just wanted to come on and tell you all that I have been very quiet on here, the reason being is that I have had to have surgery because I've had very early stages of breast cancer.
“So, I had surgery two weeks ago and it was quite a big op. But it is all good, and I have had the results back, and they have got everything out, so it is all clear.
“But it is just now time to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks, and I just wanted to say that, yeah, I have still got quite a bit of healing to do, but I am good.
“I am well and feeling so much better, and I am so grateful that I went for my mammogram, and just wanted to say don't put them off.
“Go, because if they hadn't found this on the mammogram, then it wouldn't have been picked up.
“And I would say thank you, thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact that we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early and treated quickly, and I will see you all soon.”
She simply captioned the post: “A little update from me.”
Fans of Ms Faulkner were quick to take to the comment section to share their well wishes, as one noted: “Sending a lot of love Lisa and take good care.”

Earlier this year, Ms Faulkner said she wanted to embrace new challenges in her 50s, which came shortly after her mother, Julie, died from throat cancer at the age of 44.
"I feel lucky to get to an age where you've got more to give, and you're not invisible. Women are brilliant, and we're picking each other up and looking out for each other.
"Life's short. My mum died when she was 44 and didn't get to have that second act. So I grab it," she told Hello magazine.
