"textContent": "\n\n\nA man has been jailed after assaulting two police officers and a member of the public in an attack at Manchester Airport.\n\nMohammed Fahir Amaaz, 21, has been jailed for three and a half years following the attack.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nHe has been convicted of assaulting PC Lydia Ward and PC Ellie Cook during the incident on July 23 2024.\n\nPC Ward sustained a broken nose after being punched by Amaaz, who, during the same attack, punched and elbowed PC Cook to the floor.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nReading a statement during his sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court today, Ms Ward said: \"You chose to attack a female. You knocked me to the ground with one punch, with so much force you broke my nose.\n\n\"How would you feel if a male did that to your mother? How would you feel if it was your mother standing here today explaining how she was violently assaulted by a male?\n\n\"What you did was cowardly.\"\n\nFootage of the event circulated online at the time of the incident, when Amaaz and his brother, Muhammad Amaad, went to collect their mother following her flight.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nAmaaz headbutted Abdulkareen Ismaeil amid claims he racially abused his mother.\n\nBoth brothers fought back when officers attempted to arrest them. Lawyers said Amaaz threw 10 punches, two elbows and a kick at PC Zachary Marsden.\n\nPC Marsden then was captured on video delivering a kick and stamp on Amaaz, a clip of which went viral on social media.\n\nAs a result, anti-police protests were spurred on in the summer of 2024.\n\n### MORE ON CRIME:\n\n\n\n\n * Ex-police officer found guilty of misconduct after creating 'toxic' culture on WhatsApp chat groups\n * Donald Trump's former national security adviser pleads guilty to mishandling classified information\n * Killers and rapists to be let loose on UK streets under 'reckless' early prison release scheme\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nPC Ward added: \"What angers me is that afterwards, when only part of the footage was out in the public, you played the victim.\n\n\"You are not a victim. I am the one who was injured, not you. You had the whole world listening to you and you showed no remorse. Not one ounce.\n\n\"You allowed the public to feel sorry for you. You made out like we had done something wrong when all we were doing was our job.\n\n\"The things that have been written about me on social media are disgusting. Do I deserve to be spoken about in that way? I was made to feel like an idiot.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"You could have stopped that by telling the truth. Instead, you continued with this narrative, even when the full footage was published.\"\n\n**MORE TO FOLLOW...**\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter**",
