Carole Middleton steps out with King and Queen for Royal Ascot despite Catherine's absence

Carole Middleton was spotted at Royal Ascot with the King and Queen this afternoon, despite her daughter, the Princess of Wales, being absent.

The 71-year-old stunned as she joined King Charles, Queen Camilla and Zara Tindall in the Royal Box for Ladies' Day.

Carole wore a mint green dress, coupled with a matching cream bag and wide-brimmed hat, rewearing the same Catherine Walker dress she first sported during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018.

Catherine's mother enjoyed a beverage as she chatted with Zara and the monarch in the Royal Enclosure, before catching up with Camilla on the grass.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, also managed to converse with Carole, as the pair were spotted having a laugh in between races.

Carole did not take part in the procession on Wednesday or Thursday.

Catherine, Carole's eldest daughter, was not present this afternoon, after she ended her three-year absence from Ascot yesterday instead.

She radiated joy in a striking canary yellow gown by designer Roksanda as she took part in the traditional carriage procession alongside Prince William.

Carole was joined yesterday by Alizee Thevenet, wife of her son James Middleton, along with Catherine and William.

During her appearance at Ascot yesterday, Carole wore the same elegant piece she donned at daughter Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews in 2017.

While her husband, Michael, missed yesterday, he did make an appearance for Ladies' Day this afternoon.

Today marked a star-studded Royal Procession for the esteemed Ladies' Day, as Hollywood glamour merged with royalty.

Actor Stanley Tucci and his wife Felicity Blunt took their place in the traditional carriage procession to the Berkshire racecourse, while Isabelle de La Bruyere also made her procession debut.

Mr Tucci, who is no stranger to royal gatherings, cut a distinguished figure in a black top hat and expertly tailored suit.

His wife, sister to Oscar-nominated actress Emily Blunt, chose an elegant floral dress for the occasion.

Ms de La Bruyere, a French art dealer, has been in a relationship with the Earl of Snowdon since 2022.

The second landau carried Princess Anne, 75, alongside Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Zara Tindall, 45, occupied the third carriage with Princess Zahra Aga Khan, Qatari businessman Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, and celebrated Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

The festivities unfolded against the backdrop of a significant heatwave gripping southern England, with temperatures forecast to reach 27C this afternoon.
