"textContent": "\n\n\nChinese manufacturing giant BYD has hinted that it will launch its revolutionary Flash Chargers in the UK in the near future.\n\nBYD has become one of the fastest-growing brands to enter the UK market in recent years, with drivers opting for affordable and technologically advanced cars from the brand.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nOne of its recent breakthroughs has been the Flash Charger, which can charge an electric car at record-breaking speeds.\n\nThe technology can charge an EV from 10 to 70 per cent in just five minutes, and from 10 to 97 per cent in nine minutes.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nEven in freezing temperatures of -30C, it will take just 12 minutes to charge an electric car equipped with a BYD Blade Battery.\n\nBYD has now confirmed that it will host the official launch of BYD Flash Charging at its UK headquarters \"next Tuesday\".\n\nIn a post on LinkedIn, the company said: \"This marks an important step in our continued investment in advanced charging technology and the future of EV infrastructure.\n\n\"Further details will be shared on the day. We invite partners, industry stakeholders and media to stay closely tuned as we introduce the next chapter in charging innovation.\"\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe Flash Chargers would immediately become the fastest chargers in the UK, although it is unclear how widespread the rollout will be.\n\nElectric car owners currently have access to 121,262 public chargers across the country at more than 46,000 locations, according to Zapmap.\n\nOver 28,000 of these chargers are rapid or ultra-rapid, typically delivering more than 50kW, while ultra-rapid chargers can provide speeds as high as 350kW.\n\nBYD could specifically be targeting the strength of Tesla's Supercharger network, which is the fifth-largest rapid or ultra-rapid charging provider with 2,194 chargers.\n\n### LATEST DEVELOPMENTS\n\n\n\n\n * Major car brand tests new fuel that could improve 'efficiency and performance' in huge breakthrough\n * Drivers face traffic chaos 'for several hours' after serious accident forces closure of major road\n * Honda factory 'burned completely' after huge fire rips through facility with 150 employees evacuated\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nBYD has lofty goals to install 20,000 Flash Chargers in China by the end of this year, while also rolling out the technology abroad.\n\nAs of March, BYD had 4,239 Flash devices installed across China, capable of delivering up to 1,500kW through a single connector.\n\nThe chargers are often paired with an ultra-fast-discharge energy storage system to avoid grid restrictions and prevent the grid from being overloaded.\n\nBYD previously announced that Flash Chargers and the 2.0 Blade Battery would be rolling out alongside the new Z9GT from its premium brand, Denza.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nIn April, the Denza Z9GT was formally unveiled in Europe at a glossy event in Paris with an electric battery range of 373 miles, Flash Charging capabilities and a Super Hybrid version.\n\nThe hybrid version will benefit from 173PS (127kW) in petrol power alone, as well as a total fuel and electric range of 500 miles.\n\nStella Li, executive vice president of BYD, said the Denza Z9GT was the \"perfect model to lead the brand\" as it rolls out its vehicle technology outside of China.\n\n\"Delivering the promise of 'Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3' will make the Z9GT the car that breaks down the final barriers of electrification for premium customers,\" Ms Li added.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter**",
