It is widely understood that Rogers will leave Aston Villa this summer with the club's blessing if a suitable bid arrives.

While Villa had hoped for bids of over £100m, it is believed that they could soften their stance to accommodate a money-upfront deal.

It has attracted the attention of plenty of clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, though Arsenal are now prepared to do everything they can to pip their Premier League rivals to the England international's signature.

And that includes moving quickly with a bid and looking to complete a deal before the World Cup starts; a preferred scenario for Rogers, too, with Thomas Tuchel expected to utilise the attacker heavily in North America this summer.

While GB News understands that a bid of £80m is being prepared, the total outlay could increase further depending on negotiations.

Arsenal are desperate to bolster their attack despite winning the Premier League this season as they look to become a formidable outfit.

Having scored 27 goals from set-pieces this campaign, there is a realisation in the Gunners camp that they cannot rely on them year-in, year-out.

Rogers has had a stunning season for Villa, helping them win the Europa League after scoring in the final against Freiburg as well as scoring 10 in the Premier League.

But it is his ability on the ball that has drawn suitors, particularly how he can bring the ball from midfield in dangerous positions, drawing in defenders before finding another teammate.

It is a particular trait that is sorely missed at Arsenal currently, despite the signings of Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres last summer.

As well as Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi, Arsenal spent close to £250m on the quartet - yet none of them started against PSG on Saturday.

Rogers also possesses great versatility and can be played through the middle as well as on the wing, and also as a striker.

At 23, the attacker has still more to add to his game and Arsenal believe his best years could be at the Emirates.

As for the player, he is open to a move to north London but has yet to communicate his intentions to Villa.

With so many clubs circling, the former Middlesbrough star does not want to be pressured into a hasty decision.

Rogers started his career out at West Brom at academy level before City swooped in and signed him in 2019.

After a series of loan spells at the likes of Lincoln City, Blackpool and Bournemouth, Rogers eventually left for Middlesbrough in 2023 where he spent a season in the Championship before joining Villa in 2024.
