"textContent": "\n\n\nRupert Lowe is forever saying he’s a patriot who loves Britain and is desperate to save the nation from Labour. Well, if all that’s true he needs to back the Hell out of the Makerfield by- election right now, otherwise his visceral hatred of Nigel Farage is going to usher Andy Burnhman into Downing Street.\n\nA new poll sees Labour on 43 per cent in Makerfield, Reform on 40 per cent and Rupert Lowe’s Restore Party on seven per cent. Lowe must know he doesn’t have a cat in Hell’s chance of winning - but that seven per cent that could condemn Britain to another three years of a Hard Left Government led by an even harder left PM than the one we’ve already got.\n\nBurnham is the man who wants to drag us back into the EU and the Euro. He also wants to slam us with even higher taxes, punish businesses more, give more money to the skivers, and he wants to fling open our borders to all comers.\n\nIs that what the patriotic Rupert Lowe really wants for the Britain he professes to love, because that’s exactly what’s going to happen if he doesn’t put his pride and his hatred to one side for the good of Britain?\n\nWhat’s more powerful for him, I wonder – his love of the Britain he constantly tells us he sees disappearing every day under Labour, or his hatred for the man he sees as responsible for him being kicked out of Reform?\n\nLast year, Lowe called Reform a “protest party led by a Messiah.”,Well even if he’d been living down a manhole for the past 12 months, he must see that Reform is no longer a protest party.\n\nIt is the biggest and most dangerous adversary of this mad, maniacal Labour Government that has betrayed the working people it was elected to represent.\n\nIn case people have forgotten, we should rewind a bit and say Lowe was suspended from Reform in March 2025 after allegations of bullying from two female workers who’d filed complaints against him to the Metropolitan Police. He was also alleged to have made threats of physical violence against the Party chairman, Zia Yusuf.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nAn independent Kings Council concluded there was “credible evidence“ Lowe and his staff mistreated two female team members in ways that \"seem to amount to harassment\", although no criminal charges were brought.\n\nAnd yes, Lowe has consistently denied all the allegations and believes everything that’s happened to him was part of a Reform witch hunt to get shot of him and to silence what he calls his “constructive criticism” of the party.\n\nHe believes none of it was about the bullying claims (although the women, he’s alleged to have bullied, will disagree), but it was all because he dared to ask awkward questions that the Reform leadership didn’t want to answer.\n\nThe problem with Lowe has always been that he thinks he should have been the leader of Reform.\n\nBecause he had a vast social media presence, he believed himself to be the power behind the Party, not Farage. In short, he wanted to be the boss, but Farage, rightly, was having none of it.\n\nNot least because Lowe’s policies and beliefs verge into the radical Far Right to the point where Far Right media outlets have already pledged him their support.\n\n]His beliefs are extreme, and it's looking like he wants Restore to be part of a broader re-radicalisation of the far-right. But Farage knows those parties, those people, don’t win elections. They are and always will be “fringe”.\n\nAnd if Lowe has even a modicum of political nous, he should know that too. But the question is - will his vast ego get in the way of him doing the right thing for the country, and standing aside?\n\nThe Greens are already talking of doing it to give Labour more votes, and if Lowe doesn’t, then Burnham is a shoo-in for Downing Street.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nI ask again, is this what Lowe, the patriot, really wants? Does he want to forever remain the boss of a far-right fringe party that will never gain power? Or could he not swallow his pride, forget the past and unite with Farage just for this by- election, which in terms of defining history is the most important of recent years.\n\nCould these two men – for the sake of this once great country- lay down their weapons for five minutes and have a conversation? And I say that to Farage too. He might hate Lowe.\n\nHe might hate what he sees as his treachery, but politics must surely be about more than the egos, the anger and hurt feelings of two men? Does hatred and the need to smash it to Farage mean more to Rupert Lowe than the desire to do the right thing for the country?\n\nBecause if it doesn’t, he’s no patriot. And what it will mean is that Burnham will, without doubt, be our next PM and will wreck what’s left of Britain. And Lowe will be blamed for that.\n\nI should say here that this latest poll predicting a narrow Labour lead is rumoured to come from a sample of 369 people out of a Makerfield population of 76,5000 so some might say we shouldn’t be panicking yet.\n\nBut Burnham must not be allowed to slip in because people got complacent or because they didn’t take the threat of him seriously. The Sunday Times spent last week talking to Makerfield folk, and there seems to be profound dissatisfaction with Starmer and suspicion of both Burnham and Nigel Farage. But why the hell are they just suspicious of Burnham?\n\nWhy aren’t they terrified of what he’s going to do to them? Even now, he refuses to answer the tough questions – whether or not he wants to take us back into the EU and the Euro, and whether he thinks trans women should be allowed into women’s safe spaces? Surely they know his lacklustre history as a minister?\n\nAnd they must surely be more than suspicious that he’s only using them to piggyback his way into Downing Street – and will do anything, tell any lie, to make that happen. Just like Starmer did.\n\nBurnham has everything to gain from this by-election. Farage’s only aim in Makerfield is to stop Burnham becoming PM and wreaking any more damage on this country.\n\nAnd we can only pray that the people of Makerfield see that. The bloke standing for Reform there is a plumber, Robert Kenyon, and no, he has none of the political polish of Burnham, nor does he have teams of PR people plotting his every move.\n\nUntil a few days ago, Robert was still fitting radiators and pipes. “I’m not a polished career politician,” he says.\n\nNo, he’s not, but he does know what the people of Makerfield need and want, as his family have lived in the area for 200 years. He cares about them.\n\nBurnham does not. Burnham just cares about Burnham and being Prime Minister, and he will forget the people of Makerfield as soon as he walks through the door of No.10.\n",
