Man arrested after five stabbed following ‘altercation’ in broad daylight on busy London street

Police have arrested a man after five people were injured in a stabbing incident on a west London street.

Officers patrolling Horn Lane in Acton were alerted to a violent altercation at 2.47pm on Friday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Police said five men were involved in the incident, during which they were assaulted and stabbed.

Four of those injured, aged 20, 22, 42 and 47, were transported to hospital suffering from stab wounds.

A fifth man, 26 years old, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

None of the victims sustained injuries considered life-threatening or life-changing.

The 26-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.

He remains in hospital at this time.

Police officers administered emergency first aid to all five individuals at the scene.

The London Ambulance Service confirmed they received a call relating to the incident at 2.46pm.

A spokesman said: "We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, paramedics from our tactical response unit, an emergency planning officer and an incident response officer.

"We treated five people at the scene and took them to hospital as a priority."

Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall sought to reassure local residents following the incident.

She said: "We recognise this will be concerning for the local community and want to reassure them that our detectives are working quickly to establish exactly what has taken place."

She added: "Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.

"If you have any concerns, please come and speak to our officers."

Photos circulating on local community groups reportedly show the injured men receiving treatment outside an electrical goods shop.

In 2025, police recorded 49,151 knife-related offences across England and Wales - down 10 per cent compared with 2024.

Meanwhile, there were 172 knife-related homicides, marking a 21 per cent decrease on the previous year and the lowest figure since comparable records began in 2010.
