  "textContent": "\n\n\nA major London tube station was forced to close after passengers were left feeling unwell.\n\nOfficers were called to Farringdon Station this morning after reports of a suspected gas leak in the station.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe station has been evacuated while enquiries are conducted.\n\nDisruption is expected until at least 11.45am this morning.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nA British Transport Police spokesman told GB News: \"Officers were called to Farringdon station at 9.42am today (April 30) following reports of a suspected gas leak in the station, with a small number of passengers reporting feeling unwell.\n\n\"Officers are in attendance, alongside the ambulance service and the fire brigade, and the station has been evacuated while enquiries are conducted.\"\n\nThere is currently no service on the Elizabeth Line between Paddington and Abbey Wood.\n\nThameslink services are also suspended at the station, with Transport for London (TfL) buses accepting tickets between London Blackfriars and St Pancras International.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTfL has confirmed the Elizabeth line section of Tottenham Court Road station is also shut as part of the ongoing investigation.\n\nHammersmith & City, Metropolitan, and Circle line tube trains are not currently stopping at the station.\n\nA London Ambulance Service spokesman told GB News: \"We were called at 9.40am today to reports of an incident at the junction of Farringdon Road and Clerkenwell Road, EC1M.\n\n\"We have sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a paramedic in a fast response car, a clinical team manager and paramedics from our hazardous area response team.
