Prince Harry and Meghan Markle step out for glam event hours after libel case brought forward

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put on a glamorous showing at a Netflix event in California this weekend, in spite of the duke's fresh legal challenge.

Court records on Friday showed Sentebale, a charity co-founded by the prince in honour of his late mother, Princess Diana, put forward plans to sue the British royal for libel at the High Court in London.

But merely hours later, the Sussexes put on a united front together by arriving at Netflix's Beef Season 2 Montecit Tastemaker event in their hometown, California.

The couple were snapped gleaming, standing next to Netflix co-chief Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant.

Harry, 41, opted for a classic navy suit paired with a crisp white shirt, while Meghan, 44, turned heads in a striking chartreuse "Gale" gown by designer Heidi Merrick, complemented by strappy Jimmy Choo heels.

They were joined by fellow A-list names, including Katy Perry and her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as well as Orlando Bloom.

Beef __ season 2 stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan and Charles Melton were also present.

It comes despite recent reports that Meghan and Netflix were "done".

Sources told Hollywood entertainment magazine Variety that the Sussexes' "perceived pattern of selling repackaged versions of the same story about their exit from royal life has exhausted Netflix."

However, Friday evening's big bash saw the relationship between the streaming giant and the duke and duchess as close as ever.

Yet the charming and star-studded evening unfolded against a backdrop of fresh legal turmoil for the duke.

The prince "categorically rejected" the "offensive and damaging claims" following the libel case brought forward by the charity he formerly co-chaired.

Sentebale had accused the Duke of Sussex and former trustee Mark Dyer of "triggering an onslaught of cyber-bullying".

"It is extraordinary that charitable funds are now being used to pursue legal action against the very people who built and supported the organisation for nearly two decades, rather than being directed to the communities the charity was created to serve," a spokesman for the pair said in response to the claim.

The dispute traces back to March 2025, when Harry resigned from the charity following a falling out with chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka.

Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, who co-founded Sentebale alongside Harry, departed shortly thereafter in solidarity with the board of trustees.

Chandauka subsequently reported Harry and the trustees to the Charity Commission, alleging bullying and harassment.

However, the regulatory body found no evidence of "widespread or systemic bullying, harassment, misogyny or misogynoir" within the organisation in its August 2025 findings.
