"textContent": "\n\n\nA pro-Palestine mob surrounded Royal Navy officers and branded serving personnel as \"baby killers\" during a rowdy protest where the demonstrators stormed the Ministry of Defence.\n\nShocking footage has captured furious protesters hurling insults at Britain's Armed Forces, brandishing Palestinian flags and donning face masks, in the heart of London on Friday.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nCries of \"shame on you\" could also be heard while the gaggle of protesters stormed along Whitehall towards the MoD's headquarters, starting off at the Strand in central London.\n\nMeanwhile, some impassioned demonstrators, protesting against the ban of Palestine Action, thrashed drums as they marched through London to the Government building, tucked away off Whitehall.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nPolice and Armed Forces could be seen attempting to calm the incensed crowd - but their efforts were to no avail while crowds blocked off traffic.\n\nHitting out at the protesters' behaviour, veteran Andrew Fox, who now works for the Henry Jackson Society, said the protest has \"crossed a serious line\".\n\nHe added: \"Swarming and surrounding senior service personnel as they carry out their duties is not legitimate protest. It is intimidation of those serving the country.\n\n\"Our Armed Forces should be able to go about their work without fear of harassment or being targeted in this way.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"There is also a clear security risk. Filming and circulating footage of military personnel is not harmless.\n\n\"It can expose identities, routines, and potentially put both them and their families at risk.\n\n\"People have every right to protest. But grievances about Government policy should be directed through democratic channels and at elected decision makers, not at service personnel who don't set that policy.\"\n\nBut the pro-Palestinian action has also been widely condemned by politicians across the Commons in a rare moment of cross-party consensus.\n\n### LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:\n\n\n\n\n * WATCH NOW: Protesters storm Ministry of Defence and swarm Royal Navy officers as police overwhelmed\n * Two men found guilty over involvement in 'violent mob' during Epping asylum hotel protest\n * Irish army called in to tackle protesters after heavy vehicles block fuel depots\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nHome Office minister Mike Tapp blasted the protest online, branding the storming as \"disgraceful\".\n\nHe said: 'Instead of being at work (maybe unemployable), they choose to intimidate MoD staff who are working hard to keep our country safe.\"\n\nIn a similar sentiment expressing disdain, Labour MP Al Carns dubbed the move an \"utter disgrace\".\n\nHe said: \"Protesting at the organisation that protects their very freedoms. Without the MoD or our Service personnel our democratic foundations would not exist.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"MoD work 24/7 imagine having to walk into work everyday and get harassed by this bunch…. None who have courage to serve themselves.\"\n\nBut Reform MP Richard Tice has condemned the demonstrators' actions as well, deeming the action to be \"shameful intimidation by the mob of pro-Hamas, pro-Iranian regime folk\".\n\nMeanwhile, an MoD spokesman said: We respect the right to peaceful protest.\n\n\"The safety and security of our personnel and buildings is always our priority, and appropriate security measures are in place.\"\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter**",
