"textContent": "\n\n\nAn entire town in the Australian outback has gone up on sale for $400,000 AUD (£210,000 GBP).\n\nProspective buyers will receive the Foxtrap Roadhouse, a four bedroom home, and the keys to Cooladdi, located more than 800 kilometres west of Brisbane, Queensland.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe town once had a population of about 270 people but now has just two residents, Carol Yarrow and Jo Cornel.\n\nThe pair bought the roadhouse in 2023 with a three-year plan, which has now come to an end - with Ms Yarrow intending to retire and Ms Cornel seeking to move.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\nMs Yarrow told GB News: \"Jo wants to go back to Brisbane to be closer to family. So it's time to move on and let somebody else take over this great little town.\"\n\nCooladdi was once a railway hub and is anchored by a local post office, which operates out of the roadhouse.\n\nThe new owners will be expected to have numerous responsibilities.\n\n\"There's plenty of work to do because we've got a pub, a cafe, restaurant, a shop, motel units, a cabin, post office for two mile runs,\" said Ms Yarrow.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe town of two also comes with its own postcode - 4479.\n\nAppealing to GB News viewers, Ms Yarrow said Cooladdi had a lot going for it.\n\nShe said: \"It's just in a great community. It's a laid-back lifestyle. We look around and all we see is mulga trees.\n\n\"We get a lot of passing traffic through and and a lot of lovely locals.\"\n\n### LATEST AUSTRALIA NEWS:\n\n\n\n\n * Australia's most decorated soldier to be charged with 'war crimes in Afghanistan'\n * British tourist arrested after ‘smuggling 1kg of heroin inside own body’ into Australia\n * WATCH: Skies turn blood-red in Australia as Tropical Cyclone Narelle sparks hellish scenes\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nWhile the population of the village is just two, people living in nearby cattle villages for miles around come through the roadhouse to the pub and shop.\n\nAsked why the pair bought the town, Ms Yarrow said: \"Jo wanted a sea change out of Brisbane, and I have a love of the west because I was born and bred out further west than here, right out in southwest Queensland.\n\n\"And so we just decided, let's go and give it a go.\"\n\nThe once-bustling town's population fell as the local sheep industry shrank, the trains stopped coming, and the school closed for good in 1974.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nAround that same time, Beryl and Bob Fox built the Foxtrap Roadhouse to make sure Cooladdi remained a key meeting point.\n\nThe sale is being managed by Becky Jeisman from Charleville Real Estate.\n\nCharleville, with a population of 3,000, is the closest major centre to the town, where an average house sells for about $210,000.\n\nProspective buyers will have at least one bid to compete with for the competitively-priced property, with Ms Yarrow telling GB News they had received \"only one silly offer at this stage\".\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter**",
