"textContent": "\n\n\nPopular Chinese car brand Jaecoo has launched a new premium hybrid SUV in its latest move to conquer the UK car market and build on current successes.\n\nThe new-look Jaecoo 7 has been supported with a new powertrain and styling options as the Chinese brand continues its momentum into the UK market.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nAfter a \"record-breaking\" first year for the brand, Jaecoo will introduce a new black edition of the 7, as well as its first full-hybrid model, the 7 SHS-H.\n\nThe new Jaecoo 7 SHS-P Black Luxury is an upgrade on the plug-in hybrid SHS model, which will start from £36,500.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThis will only be available in the \"top-of-the-range\" Luxury specification, featuring a blacked-out design on the interior and exterior.\n\nIt also plans to release the Jaecoo 7 SHS-H full-hybrid variant, with two trim levels, namely the Pure and Deluxe.\n\nDespite being one of the best-selling vehicles in the UK last year, Jaecoo is offering the new 7 SHS-H Pure for £29,195, while the Deluxe will retail for £32,795.\n\nThe Pure will feature a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, connectivity to Apple and Android, as well as a refrigerated centre console and dual-zone climate control.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nCustomers interested in the Deluxe model will see eco-leather upholstery, an eight-speaker sound system and a larger 14.8-inch screen.\n\nThe SHS-H is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a self-charging hybrid system that delivers 224 PS, a top speed of 112mph and a 0-62mph time of just 8.3 seconds.\n\nVictor Zhang, managing director of Jaecoo UK, said: \"After such a strong first year, it's crucial that we keep evolving.\n\n\"The Jaecoo 7 SHS-P Black Luxury gives our customers even more visual impact and exclusivity, while the full-hybrid SHS-H opens up electrified performance at an extremely competitive price point.\n\n### LATEST DEVELOPMENTS\n\n\n\n\n * Scotland could legalise electric scooters as public pressure and clean air goals prompt action\n * Driving licence changes could push more popular vehicles onto roads under new proposals\n * Petrol and diesel prices on 'crash course' as Tories demand vote on 'disgusting' fuel duty hike\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"Together, these new additions reaffirm our commitment to giving UK drivers more choice, more value, and more of what they want from a modern SUV.\"\n\nJaecoo, which is owned by Chinese brand Chery, plans to have the new vehicles available across its network of 122 dealers from May later this year.\n\nThe new Jaecoo 7 models will be supported by a comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty and a free year of RAC breakdown cover.\n\nThe Wuhu-based brand has the third-best-selling vehicle in the UK with the Jaecoo 7, having sold 5,505 new vehicles in the first two months of the year, with many comparing the model to the popular Range Rover from JLR.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nOverall, Jaecoo has sold 6,878 new vehicles in the UK, marking an impressive 2.94 per cent of the total market share for 2026.\n\nHaving launched less than two years ago, Jaecoo is still benefitting from enormous year-on-year sales totals, having increased 374.67 per cent compared to last February.\n\nDespite still being a relative unknown to many UK drivers, in the first two months of the year, it has already outsold the likes of BYD, Citroen, Fiat, Honda, Seat and Tesla.\n\nSister brand Omoda is also performing well, with 3,132 sales, a market share of 1.34 per cent and year-on-year sales of 181 per cent, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards:The GB News Editorial Charter **",
