Merseyside police have launched a probe into an elaborate "hoax" as bomb threats have been sent to multiple schools in Liverpool.
On Monday morning, reports came in that Lipa School in Liverpool City Centre had informed parents to keep their children away due to a threat being made to the education establishment.
In a letter to parents detailed the school had been forced to close on Monday due a threat that may cause harm.
However, the letter further explained that these are often hoaxes, but claimed due to "heightened media attention", it is now a "credible risk", the Liverpool Echo reports.
