"textContent": "\n\n\nOnly Fools and Horses fans have long been calling for a reprisal of the hit BBC sitcom, but their hopes have been dashed as one of the show's stars has argued it is \"best left alone\".\n\nTessa Peake-Jones, who featured in the series as Del Boy's love interest and eventual wife, Raquel Turner, shared her thoughts on fans' hopes for a revival of some kind.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe 68-year-old rose to fame in the sitcom, which debuted in 1981. The popular show followed Derek \"Del Boy\" Trotter, played by Sir David Jason, and his brother Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst).\n\nAs Ms Peake-Jones discussed the potential for a reboot, she admitted she wasn't keen on the idea, stating: \"You don’t want to fiddle about with it.\"\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe actress went on to say the series is \"best left alone,\" quashing hopes some viewers have of a potential comeback for the classic show.\n\nSpeaking to the Express, she went on to label the late John Sullivan, who wrote the series and died in 2011, as \"the genius behind the show.\"\n\nShe added: \"I don't think you could ever repeat that, and I hope they don't.\n\n\"Some reboots, or when they've brought everyone back for a prequel, just haven't worked.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"We get letters from youngsters all the time saying, 'Oh, my granddad watched this show,' or, 'My parents watched this, and they loved it,' so it passes down the generations.\n\n\"I think leave it like that because it's a bit like a jewel – you don't want to fiddle about with it.\"\n\nHowever, Ms Peake-Jones will be joining other cast members for a documentary set to air later this year on U&Gold.\n\nOnly Fools and Horses: The Lost Archive will commemorate the 45th anniversary of the sitcom's debut.\n\n### LATEST DEVELOPMENTS\n\n\n\n\n * Vicky Pattison shares update as she and husband trapped in Dubai: 'Trying to stay hopeful'\n * Radford family issue plea as son Josh targeted by trolls after sharing condition\n * Amy Dowden shares candid health update as BBC Strictly star reveals 'keeping options open'\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nIt is set to air behind-the-scenes footage as well as new material and previously unseen clips from the series.\n\nThe actress told the publication it had been \"quite depressing\" to watch the footage back.\n\n\"You're looking back at something 30 years ago, and we're all a lot older now, so you just look so different,\" she reflected.\n\n\"You think, 'Oh, we were in our prime,' which is quite a weird thing to be witnessing decades later. It's a very odd experience.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"It was a bit like torture to be forced to sit on the sofa and watch this stuff back from 30 years ago, it really was, but it's part of the job.\"\n\nShe went on to share that she had spent a day with Sir David to film the documentary and why it had been more difficult for him.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\"It was harder for David because some of that stuff for him is looking back 40 years, which I know he finds quite odd,\" she shared.\n\n\"He said, 'Isn’t it odd to see yourself looking so much younger?'\"\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards:The GB News Editorial Charter **",
