New security fence outside Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's home pictured for first time

A new security fence has been completed outside Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate ahead of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s move to the residence.

The property has been undergoing renovations ahead of the former Duke of York’s move, which is expected to be in April.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor remains at nearby Wood Farm, where Norfolk Police detained him last Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The former prince has kept out of public view since returning to Sandringham after being released from police custody seven days ago.

Workmen were seen installing the fence on Tuesday, as pick-up trucks and supplies were visible throughout the driveway.

Work appeared to be completed by Thursday, as a tall wooden fence could be seen.

Norfolk Police took Andrew into custody at Wood Farm on Thursday morning, questioning him over alleged misconduct during his decade-long stint as Britain's trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Fallout from the arrest has continued this week as activists from the campaign group Republic put up photos of Andrew on the gates of Buckingham Palace.

The photographs include yellow boarding and captions reading "William, what did you know?" and "Charles, what did you know?"

Tourists at the gates were quick to snap photos of the placards put up by Republic, who have been incredibly vocal against monarchies since the release of the Epstein files.

Reacting to the arrest, he told the People's Channel: "I'm gobsmacked to begin with. I never thought this would actually happen.

"I think something seismic has happened here. This is a completely different situation for the monarchy, and it's going to have a huge impact on the way people relate to it."
