  "textContent": "\n\n\n\nLondon Gatwick Airport railway station was quickly closed today after reports came in of a man carrying firearms boarding a train.\n\nServices halted on Friday afternoon after authorities were alerted of the incident, with eyewitnesses saying a man boarded a train to Brighton carrying a firearm this afternoon.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe emergency services were called to the scene and officers discovered a man carrying two imitation firearms and was detained.\n\nThe train station was evacuated, but airport services are thought to have been unaffected.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nBritish Transport Police are now investigating the incident.\n\nIn a statement, they said: “We received a report at 12.45pm on 20 February of a man on board a train from Brighton with a firearm.\n\n\n\"Sussex Police officers met the train at Gatwick Airport, and arrested a man in possession of two imitation firearms.
