"textContent": "\n\n\nBusinesses have been backed by new measures from Octopus that could help them save hundreds or even thousands of pounds a year when using an electric car.\n\nThe UK's largest energy supplier has launched Octopus Fleet, which is designed to help businesses ditch petrol and diesel and invest in clean electric vehicles.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nOctopus Fleet will help companies adjust to the transition to electric vehicles with help accessing tariffs, chargers and battery installations.\n\nFleets will be able to build their own tailored system which suits their drivers, including Octopus Electroverse, Europe's largest public charging network.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nElectroverse has access to more than 1.3 million charge points around the world, which could be crucial for companies conducting business in the UK and overseas.\n\nOctopus is partnered with some of the largest EV charging providers, including Ubitricity, Shell Recharge, MFG, InstaVolt, Osprey and Gridserve.\n\nThe Fleet Charging Card will also boost companies making the transition to electric, while its Visa-powered Business Payments Card makes it easy to pay and save across the company.\n\nMatt Davies, director of Octopus Electroverse and Octopus Fleet, said it was easier than ever for drivers and companies to invest in electric mobility.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nHowever, it can be difficult to have a standardised approach to the transition, given that every business is different.\n\nMr Davies stated that Octopus Fleet would help businesses of all sizes make the transition to electric cars, and \"make the EV switch a no-brainer for drivers\".\n\n\"With Octopus Fleet, we're offering a 'menu' of simple products that make sense regardless of how a fleet operates - with great options across public, home and depot charging, and for keeping your existing fleet running,\" he added.\n\nIt comes as Octopus launches its Home Charging Reimbursement scheme, which compensates drivers with the exact cost to charge their EV.\n\n### LATEST DEVELOPMENTS\n\n\n\n\n * Sadiq Khan could extend Congestion Charge hours as drivers use loophole to avoid paying daily fee\n * Diesel is 'on the way down' as car market 'moves decisively towards electric vehicles'\n * Petrol and diesel drivers get 'financially hit from every angle' as Labour fails to ease cost pressures\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nThe technology will only charge drivers for the sessions marked as business, removing the hassle of claiming expenses with their companies.\n\nWhen plugging their company car in at home, they will choose whether it is a business or home charging session and receive one simple bill.\n\nThe cost for home charging reimbursement is £9.50 per driver, per month, in addition to the energy used for the business-related charging sessions.\n\nOctopus is one of the UK's largest providers of salary sacrifice cars, with drivers able to save up to 40 per cent on the cost of an EV.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nIn 2025, Octopus saw a jump in interest in Chinese electric vehicles, including the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo E5 BEV.\n\nThe Omoda E5 was ranked as the most popular electric vehicle last year, while sister brand Jaecoo topped the list of best-performing EVs in the last three months of 2025.\n\nChris Clayton, head of fleet at Omoda and Jaecoo UK, said: \"Just months after its UK introduction, the Jaecoo E5 has already become the top-selling electric vehicle through Octopus EV in Q4, which is a strong early indicator of how well the car is resonating with fleet and salary sacrifice customers.\n\n\"It underlines the demand we're seeing for EVs that combine distinctive design, strong real-world range and a competitive total cost of ownership, backed by a straightforward ordering and ownership experience.\"\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n**Our Standards:The GB News Editorial Charter **",
