  "textContent": "\n\n\nRachel Reeves has issued a statement on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.\n\nThe Chancellor called for King Charles’s disgraced brother to give information on the treatment of young women and girls by Jeffrey Epstein and his associates.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nMs Reeves said: “The former prince has a lot of questions to answer on a whole range of issues, and I think he owes it to the victims of Epstein and his associates to come forward and give information about what he knew about the treatment of young women and girls.\"\n\nIt comes as newly released Epstein files have exposed that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor maintained contact with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein well beyond the date he publicly claimed their relationship ended.\n\nThe documents reveal the former Duke of York dispatched Christmas cards to Epstein in both 2011 and 2012, each containing photographs of his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nTRENDING\n\nStories\n\nVideos\n\nYour Say\n\nThis evidence directly contradicts statements Andrew made during his 2019 Newsnight interview when he declared: \"To this day, I never had any contact with him from that day forward.\"\n\nAndrew was referring to their photographed meeting in New York's Central Park on December 5 2010.\n\nHowever, the first festive greeting, dispatched on December 21 2011, bore Andrew's personal signature and conveyed wishes for \"much joy and happiness at this time and for the year ahead\" to the convicted paedophile who had recently been released from prison.\n\nThe card featured no fewer than three photographs of his daughters, then aged 23 and 21, including one showing the sisters together in wintry surroundings.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nBeatrice appeared wearing a silver Christmas cracker hat with ear muffs, whilst Eugenie was pictured in a fur hat and brown scarf.\n\nAdditional imagery depicted a snow-covered Royal Lodge and a whimsical cartoon showing what appeared to be Andrew walking four dogs towards a snowman bearing the Royal Standard.\n\nA subsequent card followed on 20 December 2012, once again featuring images of the princesses engaged in various activities.\n\nThis second greeting included photographs of Beatrice scaling Mont Blanc during a February 2012 expedition, captured posing with one hand on her hip.\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\n###\n\n\n\n\nEugenie was depicted participating in a Night Rider charity cycling event through London, wearing high-visibility clothing and a helmet atop her bicycle.\n\nThe 2012 card also contained photographs of Andrew's former wife, Sarah Ferguson, demonstrating the continued personal nature of his correspondence with Epstein despite his later protestations of having severed all ties with the disgraced financier.\n\nBoth Christmas cards were sent bearing Andrew's official \"HRH The Duke of York\" designation.\n\nAndrew has consistently denied the allegations against him and appearing in the Epstein files is not evidence of any wrongdoing.
