Queen Camilla is all smiles she meets with old friend at Clarence House

Queen Camilla was all smiles as she met a long-time four-legged friend at Clarence House on Friday.

Her Majesty owns two Jack Russells, Bluebell and Moley, and she is a patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The Royal Family took to social media to detail the Queen’s latest interaction with a dog.

They said: “A very special visitor…

“Medical Detection Dog in-training, Freddy, showed off his royal etiquette and public access training during a meeting with The Queen at Clarence House.

“Her Majesty named Freddy, in 2024, to celebrate more than 10 years as Patron of the charity. Since then, Freddy has been working hard on his development towards become a fully qualified Medical Alert Assistance Dog.

“The charity’s Medical Alert Assistance Dogs support individuals with complex health conditions who have limited awareness of an impending life-threatening medical event.

The video is underlined by the sound of Send Me on My Way by Rusted Root, and Freddy can be seen showing off his etiquette skills in front of the Queen.

Camilla can be seen smiling as she plays with Freddy among the royal staff.

This is not the first time that Her Majesty has shone a spotlight on how dogs can help humans.

In December, Queen Camilla hailed a dog that called for help to save its unconscious owner.

The royal labelled the Jack Russell puppy a “real star” after she was alerted to the dog’s remarkable act.

Catherine Anderson, 71, was treated by paramedics after she was left unconscious following a fall in her living room, which resulted in the pensioner knocking her head.

Paramedics were alerted after 12-week-old Chloe hit the alarm button on Ms Anderson’s lifeline system.

Ms Anderson reached out to Queen Camilla to inform her of Chloe’s act and sent the royal a gold and white brooch shaped like a Jack Russel for her birthday.

The Queen replied in a letter: “Thank you so much for the charming ‘Jack Russell’ brooch you so kindly sent me.

“I think Chloe is a real star... how lucky you are to have her.

“I’ve always had Jack Russells but now I’ve got Moley, who has turned out to be half Yorkshire Terrier and a quarter Chihuahua.”
