ITV The Chase fans beg for change to format after 'embarrassing' episode: 'A disgrace!'
The Chase viewers issued a plea over the show's format on Friday after all four contestants were eliminated before the Final Chase segment.
The chaotic twist resulted in one of the contestants being voted back to compete against Chaser Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan, but fans were left furious as they took to social media.
Presenter Bradley Walsh had welcomed contestants Mark, Tan, Miriam and Jon on Friday's instalment, but unfortunately none of them made it past their individual rounds.
Mark was the first to take on The Vixen after reaching £6,000 in the Cash Builder. However he ended up being caught, leaving his team as a trio.
Up next was Tan, who achieved £7,000 only to also be defeated by Ms Ryan, while Miriam experienced the same outcome with her £5,000.
Final contestant Jon opted to make things even more difficult for himself by opting for the higher prize fund of £80,000.
However the move saw him also caught by The Vixen, meaning she had defeated the whole team midway through the episode.
The show dictates that in this circumstance, the team nominates a player to come back as the "Lazarus" contestant.
He managed to reach a respectable 14, but ultimately Ms Ryan was victorious.
The selected player competes alone in the Final Chase with a reduced consolation pot of £1,000 per person.
However, the outcome left fans frustrated, and many expressed their belief that the show needs to change its format.
Taking to X, fans called for a "revamp" to the long-running series, which has been on air since 2009.
