Jake Paul was in tears in the crowd as he watched his betrothed put on an incredible display at the Winter Olympics on Monday.

Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam won a gold medal in Milan after an Olympic record-breaking display in the 1,000m, registering a time of 1:12.31.

She beat her compatriot Femke Kok to the top spot on the podium, with Japan's Miho Takagi coming third.

Having won a silver medal in Beijing four years ago, this has been a transformative few years for Leerdam, who has become a huge name on social media as well as in the world of athletics.

Pictures found the American social media personality crying along with his mother, as well as Leerdam's mother.

Taking to social media, the Youtuber-turned-boxer wrote: "Juttttttttttaaaaaaaa. I can’t stop crying.

"You did it my love. Olympic Gold. God is great and so are you."

Earlier in the day, Paul said: "Today is your day baby.

"You’ve worked your whole life for this. We all love and support you so much go get em champ."

Leerdam was also in tears as she made her way across the finishing line on an emotional day, having already been criticised before.

The 27-year-old chose to travel to the Games by private jet and not with the rest of the Dutch team.

Former Netherlands footballer accused Leerdam of being a "diva" while she also came under fire for missing the Opening Ceremony.

He said: "She should want it of her own accord. She's already living like a millionaire, with private jets and everything.

"Her behaviour is horrible to me, like that of a diva. If I were her coach, I wouldn't tolerate that.

"Gradually the whole of the Netherlands is starting to get a bit fed up with her behaviour."
