The Leadership Glitch: You are competent. Possibly excellent. You deliver results, hit targets, and your calendar is full of people who need you. So why does Sunday evening feel like a slow puncture? The corporate system has a simple answer: perform better. Get promoted. Earn more. The system cannot conceive of a different diagnosis because the system only measures output. It has no instrument for meaning. The Kingdom Solution: The glitch is not your performance. It is the gap between what you are good at and what you were built for. Closing that gap is not a mindset shift. It is structural work on your inner architecture. It requires honest excavation and the courage to act on what you find.

The Observation

Watch what happens when people retire.

After forty years of competent, well-compensated work, they take up painting. Or woodworking. Or teaching English to refugees on Thursday mornings. Not because they finally have time. Because they finally have permission.

The gift was there the whole time. Parked. Waiting. Running quietly in the background while something else took the wheel.

Your brain registers the difference between competent performance and gifted contribution. One activates the survival cycle: adequate, defended, draining. The other activates the creative cycle: generative, focused, alive. The biology is not neutral. You were not built for mere competence.

Psalm 139 is not pastoral reassurance. It is a design specification. You were knit together with intention and purpose. Ephesians 2:10 calls you God's masterpiece, created for specific good works. Not generic good works. Specific ones. The ones your gift was shaped for.

Running the wrong software on purpose built hardware is not humility. It is waste.

What task at work, however small, makes time disappear? Not the task you are praised for. The one that feels effortless and alive even when it is hard.

Write it down. One sentence. Do not explain it or justify it yet.
