The head-up display apparatus comprises: an image projecting device, a display background detecting device, and a processor. The image projecting device is configured to generate an image and project the image onto a preset area on a reflective surface. The display background detecting device is configured to detect optical information of a background space that a user can see through the preset area, wherein the background space and the user are located at opposite sides of the reflective surface. The processor is configured to determine an image displaying mode of the image projecting device based on the optical information, and to control the image projecting device to project images in the determined image displaying mode.",
