The rubber composition for a tire comprises a rubber component comprising 50% by mass or more of an isoprene rubber, 30% by mass or more of a butadiene rubber and 1 to 20% by mass of a styrene-butadiene rubber having a number-average molecular weight of 150,000 or more and a styrene content of 18 to 38% by mass, wherein a value obtained by multiplying a content (% by mass) of the styrene-butadiene rubber by a styrene content (% by mass) of the styrene-butadiene rubber is from 100 to 400.",
