The bumper apparatus includes an axial crush member formed in a hollow cylindrical shape and extending in the front-to-rear direction. The axial crush member has a closed cross-section formed by bonding flat band-like flanges provided on a pair of panels to one another. Each of the pair of flanges is formed in a wavelike pattern along the front-to-rear direction while the pair of flanges is bonded to one another. Each of the pair of flanges has a convex surface and a concave surface as bonded surfaces which are arranged alternately in the front-to-rear direction, and a inclined surface as a non-bonded surface which connects the convex surface to the convex surface and is inclined with respect to the front-to-rear direction.",
