In a shift device (), a base portion () of a collar () is accommodated in a mounting hole () of a support portion (), and a thin plate portion () of the support portion () is disposed at an upper side of an upper face (A) of the base portion (). When an impact load of at least a predetermined value is applied to a shift lever, the thin plate portion () of the support portion () is broken by the base portion () and the support portion () moves while being guided by the base portion (). Thus, the impact load is absorbed. Consequently, an impact load absorption mode may be made consistent.
