A battery module according to some embodiments may include:a module frame comprising first and second cell slots isolated in a first direction and a slot gap positioned between the first and second cell slots;a first battery cell within the first cell slot; anda second battery cell within the second cell slot.Accordingly, some embodiments can prevent a thermal runaway event from occurring up to other adjacent battery cells even if a thermal runaway event occurs in some battery cells. Consequently, even if a thermal runaway event occurs in some battery cells, it is possible to prevent a thermal runaway event from occurring in the entire battery module or the entire battery pack.
