APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BATTERY

An apparatus for controlling a battery according to an embodiment of the present invention controls a battery system in which a plurality of battery packs are connected in parallel, and may comprise: a self discharging circuit unit connected in parallel with the plurality of battery packs; and a control unit that measures a current flowing through each battery pack when each battery pack is started according to a use request for the plurality of battery packs, and controls the self discharging circuit unit to be turned on according to the current flowing through the battery pack.
