A battery cell according to the present disclosure includes an electrode assembly including a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator stacked along a stacking direction; a cell case accommodating the electrode assembly; and a thermal insulator disposed on one remaining side of the cell case except two side portions in the stacking direction of the electrode assembly, the thermal insulator including a thermal insulation material, wherein the cell case includes a contact portion disposed at a different location from a location of the thermal insulator, the contact portion configured to contact a cooler.
