Embodiments provide an electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes: a positive electrode including a positive electrode current collector, a first positive electrode active material layer on the positive electrode current collector, and a second positive electrode active material layer spaced apart from the first positive electrode active material layer with the positive electrode current collector therebetween; a negative electrode including a negative electrode current collector, a first negative electrode active material layer on the negative electrode current collector, and a second negative electrode active material layer spaced apart from the first negative electrode active material layer with the negative electrode current collector therebetween; a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a variable resistance structure in contact with the positive electrode and the negative electrode, the variable resistance structure includes a conductive foil and a variable resistance film on the conductive foil, and the variable resistance film includes a transition metal oxide.
