A battery diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment disclosed herein includes an interface unit configured to obtain a state of charge (SOC) value of each of a plurality of battery cells and one or more processors configured to calculate a charging/discharging SOC difference in every charging/discharging cycle for each of the plurality of battery cells, calculate an SOC difference-to-average of each of the plurality of battery cells, based on the charging/discharging SOC difference, calculate a plurality of indicators one-to-one corresponding to the plurality of battery cells, based on the SOC difference-to-average, and diagnose abnormality of each of the plurality of battery cells based on the plurality of indicators.
