An electrode assembly and a preparation method therefor, a battery, and an electrical apparatus. The electrode assembly comprises an electrode plate. The electrode plate comprises a current collector, an active layer, and a tab. The active layer is arranged on at least one side of the current collector in the thickness direction thereof, and the tab is arranged on one side of the current collector in the height direction thereof. In the direction from the side of the current collector where the tab is arranged to the opposite side and in the direction from the current collector to the side away from the current collector, the liquid absorption capacity of the active layer decreases gradually. By enabling the active layer to have different liquid absorption capacities for an electrolyte in a specific direction, the electrolyte wettability of the electrode assembly can be effectively improved. Moreover, the problem of reduced electrolyte wettability of the electrode plate due to the volume expansion or contraction of the electrode plate squeezing out the electrolyte during charging and discharging can also be addressed, thereby improving the electrolyte wettability of the electrode assembly.
