A battery diagnosis apparatus according to an embodiment disclosed herein includes a slave battery management system (BMS) configured to generate unit state information by measuring a state of a battery unit, a management unit configured to generate pack state information by measuring a state of a battery pack and control an operation of a relay related to power supply of the battery pack based on at least one of the unit state information and the pack state information, and a master BMS configured to receive the unit state information and the pack state information from the management unit and monitor battery cells included in at least one of the battery unit and the battery pack based on at least one of the unit state information and the pack state information.
