A charging connector (100; 200) according to the invention for charging an electric vehicle with direct current and/or alternating current is described. The charging connector (100; 200) according to the invention comprises a cylindrical contact section (102; 202; 302; 402), wherein the cylindrical contact section (102; 202; 302; 402) has at least one alternating current contact (110, 112, 114; 210, 212, 214) and a neutral conductor contact (116; 216), and a first (120, 122; 220, 222; 320, 322; 420, 422) and a second direct current contact (122, 120; 222, 220; 322, 320; 422, 420), wherein the first (120, 122; 220, 222; 320, 322; 420, 422) and second direct current contact (122, 120; 222, 220; 322, 320; 422, 420) are designed as contact surfaces (120, 122; 220, 222; 320, 322; 420, 422). Furthermore, a charging connector system with two charging connectors (100; 200) according to the invention and a cable (126) is proposed.
