Source
Fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, having an injector housing with an injection hole arranged at its end facing the cylinder in an installed state, for introducing the fuel into the cylinder, wherein the injection hole can be closed by a valve element arranged in the injector housing, which valve element is positionally displaceable by an actuating element, via a sealing seat, wherein the injection hole is permeable to fuel when the valve element is in a position remote from the cylinder, wherein elasticity is introduced in a region of the sealing seat in the valve element and/or the injector housing. By means of the invention, after closing the injection hole by the valve element, the fuel located in the injection hole is drawn back, whereby coking of the fuel in the region of the injection hole is avoided.
