The invention relates to a light signaling device (6) intended to be arranged behind a window (4) or pane, in particular a rear window pane of a motor vehicle, the device comprising a location for at least one light source (12) capable of emitting light rays; an optical system (14, 16) capable of deflecting the light rays emitted by the light source or sources (12) so as to converge at a point or segment (18) and to form a light beam diverging along an optical axis (26) of the device. The latter further comprises a mask (22, 24) extending from the optical system (14, 16), at the level of the point or segment of convergence (18), in the direction of the light beam.
