The present invention relates to an exhaust gas valve device (5) for an internal combustion engine with a flow housing (10) that delimits an exhaust gas duct (14), an actuating shaft (18), at least one valve body (22) that is rotatably arranged on the actuating shaft (18) in the exhaust gas duct (14), and a housing bore (34) in the flow housing (10) through which the actuating shaft (18) projects outward. The exhaust gas valve device (5) further comprises a bearing bush (26) which is arranged in the housing bore (34) and in which the actuating shaft (18) is mounted, and a sealing arrangement (62) which seals a gap (58) between the housing bore (34) of the flow housing (10) and the actuating shaft (18). The sealing arrangement (62) is formed from a plurality of axially spaced piston rings (66 1 , 66 2 , 66 3 , 66 4 ) which bear radially against the housing bore (34) or the actuating shaft (18), wherein the piston rings (66 1 , 66 2 , 66 3 , 66 4 ) which bear against the housing bore (34) face the actuating shaft (18) and those which bear against the actuating shaft (18) face the housing bore (34) forming a radial gap (79, 82, 92, 97) which is covered in the radial direction by at least one adjacent piston ring (66 1 , 66 2 , 66 3 , 66 4 ), an adjacent actuating shaft section (94), or an adjacent housing bore section (98).
