DEVICE FOR DISPLACING A LOCKING ELEMENT

In a device for displacing a locking element (50) of a steering column of a motor vehicle, a detection element (14) is in the retracted position (4) in the case of a keyless key channel (12) and in the extended position (3) in the case of an inserted key, wherein in its deactivated state (6) the safety lock (30) permits movement of the locking element (50) and the detection element (14) is in the retracted position (4), and in its activated state (5) the safety lock (30) blocks movement of the locking element (50) from the unlocked position (2) to the locked position (1) and the detection element (14) is in the extended position (3). The safety lock (30) has a lever element (32) which is arranged to be movable about a rotation axis (33) between the detection element (14) and the coupling element (31), wherein through a movement of the detection element (14) the lever element (32) is movable between a release position (7) and a locking position (8), in the locking position (8) the lever element (32) engages the coupling element (31), in the release position (7) the lever element (32) permits movement of the coupling element (31), and during movement between the release position (7) and the locking position (8) the rotation axis (33) is displaceable.
