Embodiments of this application disclose a photovoltaic power generation system, so that a voltage in the photovoltaic power generation system can be increased under a same power conversion condition, to reduce a current in the photovoltaic power generation system, thereby reducing energy consumption and reducing costs of the photovoltaic power generation system. The method in this application includes: a photovoltaic array, a direct current conversion unit, a bus unit, and an inverter unit, where there are one or more photovoltaic arrays; the photovoltaic array is configured to: convert solar energy into electric energy, in other words, generate direct current power, and output a direct current voltage; and the bus unit is configured to store direct current electric energy output by the direct current conversion unit or directly store the direct current electric energy output by the photovoltaic array, to increase a bus voltage in the first bus unit. An input voltage of the inverter unit is increased under the same power conversion condition, which can effectively reduce a direct current bus current in the photovoltaic power generation inverter system and correspondingly reduce an alternating current obtained after inversion by the inverter unit. Therefore, an electric energy loss in the photovoltaic power generation inverter system is reduced.
