There is proposed a vehicle air-conditioning apparatus (1, 100) including: a casing (10, 110) having an air flow channel in the interior thereof, a heat exchanger for heating (15) that heats air flowing in the air flow channel; an auxiliary heater (16) that is smaller than the heat exchanger for heating and is disposed to face an outflow surface (15b) of the heat exchanger for heating from which the heated air flows out; and an opening-and-closing portion (30,230,330,430) that is capable of opening and closing a controlled area (S1) of the outflow surface, which is a part of an area where the auxiliary heater is not disposed, in which the opening-and-closing portion closes the controlled area in the full hot mode, and opens the controlled area in a mode other than the full hot mode.
