The invention relates to a method for controlling electrical power provided at a charging station for an electric vehicle, wherein the charging station is supplied by a facility for generating renewable energy which is installed in such close proximity to the charging station that a physical-meteorological parameter value acting at the location of the facility and determining the power generated by the facility is approximately equal to the value of the parameter at the location of the charging station. A measurement of the physical-meteorological parameter at the location of the charging station is performed, and control of the electrical power provided by the charging station is effected by changing a charging current as a function of the measured physical-meteorological parameter.
