The invention proposes a cut-off mechanism (3) for a motor vehicle headlight, with a removable cut-off blade (5). The cut-off mechanism (3) comprises a movable assembly (8) and a cut-off blade (5) capable of being mounted on a support element (9) of the movable assembly (8), said support element (9) comprising at least one housing (10A, 10B), said cut-off blade (5) being provided with at least one fixing foot (11A, 11B), and said housing (10A, 10B) and said fixing foot (11A, 11B) being cooperative and configured in such a manner as to allow obtaining a position called mounted in which the fixing foot (11A, 11B) is inserted into the housing (10A, 10B), following an insertion by pressing, in such a manner as to be able to generate a removable fixing of the cut-off blade (5) on the movable assembly (8).
