"textContent": "The present invention relates to a method for pollutant reduction in an internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel engine, in which exhaust gases generated by means of at least one cylinder (1) of the internal combustion engine with at least one first (5) and one second (7) exhaust valve are supplied to an exhaust aftertreatment system (9) exclusively by means of the first exhaust valve (5) via a first exhaust gas duct (11) associated with the first exhaust valve, which has at least in part a thermally insulating layer (17) upstream of an associated exhaust gas turbocharger (13), depending on a predefined condition, and wherein the thermally insulating layer is selected such that by means of the exhaust gases an increased heat input to the exhaust aftertreatment system is achieved compared to a heat input to be transferred by means of a second exhaust gas duct (19) associated with the second exhaust valve (7) with an associated exhaust gas turbocharger (21), wherein the control of the two exhaust valves (5, 7) in the warm-up phase depends on the current coolant temperature.",
