CONTROL UNIT OF TRAILER COUPLING

A control unit (1) for a trailer coupling arranged in a vehicle, which is connected by means of a connector (3) to a trailer (2) equipped with LED lights (6). The control unit (1) enables the operation of the lighting functions of the coupled trailer (2) based on signals from other control units in the vehicle, which are transmitted via a communication bus (7) and routed via the conductors (8) from the control unit (1) to the connector (3) for coupling the trailer (2). The control unit (1) comprises a power supply (9) from the vehicle's power source, a microprocessor (10), which represents the main control loop of the control unit (1), and an actuator (11) for operating the lighting functions of the coupled trailer (2) by means of the signal (12). The innovation of the invention lies in the fact that the control unit (1) of the trailer coupling comprises a power source (13) which generates a negative voltage (18), and an actuator (14) for supplying the negative voltage (18) to the conductors (8) and the trailer (2). The actuator (14) is actuated by a control signal (15) from the microprocessor (10). The control unit (1) comprises a limiter (16) for slower charging of the capacitance (4) of the conductor (8) and the capacitance (5) of the trailer (2). The control unit (1) comprises an adaptation control loop (17) which generates the adapted voltage (19) for processing in the microprocessor (10).
