The invention relates to a device for obscuring a glazed surface of a motor vehicle comprising two non-parallel guide rails and a fabric guided in translation between the guide rails to cover or uncover the glazed surface, the fabric bearing on each of its longitudinal edges retaining means circulating in a retaining channel formed in and/or carried by each of the rails, a part of the fabric extending from the longitudinal edges circulating inside the rail. According to the invention, the position of the channel, measured in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rail, varies progressively relative to the rail, such that the quantity of fabric circulating in the rail varies in correspondence.
