The invention relates to a method for optimized arrangement of seating surfaces for capacity-neutral comfort improvement for passengers in vehicles with articulated sections, and an arrangement for at least one seat in vehicles with at least one articulated section, as well as a vehicle with at least one articulated section and seating facilities arranged in the articulated section, wherein for optimized arrangement of seating surfaces folding seats (1) are used, which are arranged on the side walls of the articulated sections (11) of the vehicle (10) and are thereby positioned such that the folding seat (1) in the folded-in state does not reduce the standing area and the passage width in this area.
