The motor vehicle (1) comprises an accumulator (2a) for the electric drive system (2) and a fuel tank (3a) for the internal combustion engine (3). Furthermore, the motor vehicle (1) has at least one operating parameter, wherein by means of an adjustment of the operating parameter the drive of the motor vehicle (1) is controlled by means of the electric drive system (2) and/or internal combustion engine (3) as well as a charging of the accumulator (2a) by means of the internal combustion engine (3). A charge state of the accumulator (2a) and a planned route are recorded and a planned energy content of the accumulator (2a) and a planned adjustment of the operating parameter are each determined as a function of the planned route. Furthermore, graphic data of a graphical representation are generated, wherein the graphical representation comprises at least one graphic element (20) which displays the planned energy content of the accumulator (2a) as a function of the planned route.
