TYRE FILLING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE WHEEL

A tire filling device for a vehicle wheel is proposed, comprising an air compressor (20) which is part of the vehicle and is connected via an air supply line (25) to the air volume in the vehicle tire. So that after a wheel change, for example as a result of a tire puncture, the on-board automatic tire filling system can continue to be used independently of the design type of the replacement wheel, the air supply line (25) is connected via an adapter (50) to the tire valve (12) arranged on the vehicle-external side of the vehicle wheel. The adapter (50) is provided with an internal thread (52) for pressure-tight screwing with the tire valve (12) and with a valve element (55) which is guided lengthwise in the adapter (50). The cross-section (F1) of the valve element (55) exposed to the pressure in the air supply line (25) is larger than the cross-section (F2) facing the air volume in the vehicle tire.
